Antonia Thomas (she/her) is an archaeologist based in Orkney, where she leads the MA Contemporary Art and Archaeology at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI). Her research focuses on two distinct but connected areas: mark-making in archaeological contexts, from prehistoric rock art to contemporary graffiti, and the relationship between archaeology and contemporary art practice. She is particularly interested in ideas around inscription, process and trace.
